"Well, I worked in a factory for 23 years, and the plant went overseas. I was a cloth spreader for Bear Clothing Group. I made this suit, as a matter of fact, that I am wearing. Computers were always an interest to me so I came here to DBC to learn all about the computer world. I wanted a career, I didn’t want a job. I took all computer courses, visual basics, Java, HTML, computer repair, and networking, which is what I do today, so that was a great asset for me. I work at the Central Intermediate Unit #10 in West Decatur, PA. I have 12 school districts, 2 VoTechs, and three development centers for adults. I maintain a very, very complex network at the main office with 21 different servers and over 200 people. This is a professional environment. I really like that. It’s just nice to go into the office, and if somebody a problem, I’m right there. I fix it; I get a “thank you.” In fact, my second anniversary was on Wednesday, and somebody baked me a cake. It’s a very gratifying job. People like me and I like them."
